Join the EFIMED network for an exciting two-day scientific seminar and a field trip to the beautiful hills of Calabria! With the help of scientists, practitioners and civil society it will be explored how Mediterranean forests could better contribute to the creation of livelihoods, jobs and social opportunities for marginalised groups, while also helping address other key challenges, such as energy, water and food security and nature conservation.
Check out the full programme, also featuring a session on smart forestry, exploring new ways to enhance the role of our forests in the green economy.
The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will kick off the meeting, providing a context of global and international challenges.
A number of prominent speakers from a variety of institutions will bring a wealth of experience to the table, while practitioners and civil society will showcase successful cases of social forestry programmes and smart innovative projects.
